Give a Shout-Out to Your ‘Pandemic Hero’

Recognize a friend, neighbor, spouse or child who went above and beyond during this unprecedented year.

On March 16, Baltimore reaches the one-year mark of living with Covid.

As a community, we have been through a lot, from months of social isolation to jobs lost and homes transformed into combined workplaces and schools.

Now that the end is in sight for this long global nightmare, it’s time to look back and acknowledge the people in our lives who overcame these challenges and helped get us through this difficult year with acts of kindness or sacrifice, large and small.

Here’s your chance to give a well-deserved shout-out to someone in your life – a friend, neighbor, spouse, coworker, child, or favorite shop owner – who went above and beyond during this unprecedented year.

We will publish a collection of all these tributes from people who live or work on the peninsula as the main feature in the first print edition of the South Baltimore Peninsula Post on March 16, the one-year anniversary of pandemic restrictions going into effect in Baltimore.

To submit your shout-out, write a sentence or two describing this person’s pandemic achievement and how it made a difference to your life or the lives of others. We’ll print your personal tribute with your name and the street where you live or work on the peninsula.

You can submit more than one tribute if you like. Be sure to include your name, street address, and email. You can submit using the form below or via email at  bmorepeninsulapost@gmail.com.

As a thank you, we will deliver 5 copies of this Peninsula Post print issue to your door anywhere on the peninsula, free of charge. “Our Pandemic Year” issue will include stories and photos celebrating how our community adapted over the past 12 months to keep spirits strong as normal life was turned upside down.

We hope you’ll be part of this special issue and help us acknowledge those in our community who went the extra mile to overcome what the pandemic threw at us.

Please submit your tributes by Wednesday, Feb. 17. (Reminder: Either you or your ‘hero’ must live or work on the South Baltimore peninsula.)
